Whangarei's beaches are among the most beautiful in New Zealand, with plenty of different coastlines to choose from, be it the Whangarei Heads with its volcanoes, the pristine Tutukaka Coast, the sandy long curve of Bream Bay or more remote areas like Pataua, Taiharuru, Waipu, Mimiwhangata, Whananaki or Whangaruru - countless amazing places to explore. Add to that a wonderful array of native bush full of twisted interesting Puriri and tall Kauri, limestone rock formations, extinct volcanoes and majestic Pohutukawa trees along the coast, a wonderful playground for a nature photographer.
